  • Credit Hour Requirement: You must enroll in and complete a minimum of 6 semester credit hours of 5000 or 6000 level courses (applicable to the degree program for which you were admitted to the University of North Texas) during both the Fall and Spring semesters. You must complete at least 12 graduate credit hours by the end of Spring 2021. Please be aware summer enrollment does not count towards the 12-hour requirement.
  • UNT GPA Requirement: Maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average for every term you receive this scholarship, as well as satisfactory performance and progress in the degree program for which you were admitted to the University of North Texas.
  • Other: You are highly encouraged to file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) as part of the final award process as you may have financial aid available to assist with other educational expenses. 

Toulouse Graduate School scholarships require recipients to fulfill certain academic criteria while they hold the scholarship. By accepting this Academic Achievement Scholarship, you confirm that you understand all the scholarship's criteria and that if you fail to fulfill these requirements, you may forfeit all or a portion of the scholarship and waiver (if applicable).

  • You must be fully admitted and active in a UNT degree-seeking program to receive this scholarship, and understand that if you are required to attend the Intensive English Language Institute (IELI) upon arrival you are not eligible to receive this scholarship until you have satisfactorily completed the IELI program and are enrolled only in graduate credit hours applying toward your doctoral or master of fine arts degree.
  •  You must enroll and successfully complete the minimum credit hour requirement during the terms of this scholarship award, and maintain the minimum cumulative grade point average at the conclusion of each term of the award.
  • Your scholarship is funded through tuition revenue. As such, enrollment is required to receive this scholarship and disbursements are applied to tuition and fee charges.
  • You assume responsibility, as a recipient of this scholarship, to check your student account to ensure your scholarship funds have been posted to your account. If you find the scholarship funds have not been posted to your account, you must contact the Toulouse Graduate School before the end of the Fall 2020 semester.
  • If you fail to adhere to any of these conditions, you are subject to cancellation of the scholarship and the applicable non-resident tuition waiver. The Toulouse Graduate School will notify students not meeting scholarship requirements regarding cancellation. Once the scholarship cancellation has been completed, you will not be reinstated into the scholarship program.

Financial Aid Information and FERPA Release

By accepting this scholarship award, you agree to abide by the policies, rules, and regulations governing UNT. You authorize UNT to verify the information you have provided as needed. You understand that recipient information, including information from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), may be provided to the donor(s) and/or UNT department(s) funding any scholarships received, and that notice of this award may be publicized in university materials. You authorize UNT to provide copies of grades and periodic performance updates to the selection committee as needed, including members of organizations or foundations overseeing donor interests (i.e., foundations, trust administrators, etc.). For students on externally funded sponsored projects, funding and selection processes are mandated/overseen by the sponsor/PI and your participation are expected. Finally, you understand that the submission of false information is grounds for rejection and/or withdrawal of a scholarship offer with related reporting requirements.

Please note that this scholarship award information will be sent to Student Financial Aid & Scholarships so that it may be coordinated with your other awards received for the Fall 2020/Spring 2021 award period. Once posted to your student account, receipt of this scholarship may cause other scholarships (awarded by UNT or outside agencies) and other resources (federal, state and institutional financial aid) to be adjusted if you exceed the current cost of attendance at UNT, or exceed your “need” for assistance as calculated by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Finally, you should utilize the myUNT student portal to view your student information.

Competitive Scholarship Waiver

• Non-Texas residents assessed non-resident tuition receiving UNT scholarship(s) for at least $1,000 will be assessed tuition costs at the in-state rate for the fall, spring and the following summer terms. Students receiving a competitive scholarship waiver of non-resident tuition must complete Selective Service Registration, according to applicable Texas Education Code 51.9095.For more information about who must register, please visit the Selective Service System site: https://www.sss.gov/Registration-Info/Who-Registration.

• Non-Texas resident distance learners are not eligible for a competitive scholarship waiver when being charged under the Out of State Teaching Fee (OSTF) structure since non-resident charges are not present on the student account.

April 15th Resolution

UNT is a member of the Council of Graduate Schools' (CGS) “Resolution Regarding Graduate Scholars, Fellows, Trainees, and Assistantships” also known as the “April 15 Resolution.” Based on the resolution, you are not required to respond to this offer prior to April 15th.
