U.S. News and World Report lists UNT online education program among best in the nation

DENTON (UNT) Texas—U.S News and World Report has named the University of North Texas College of Education online graduate education program one of the best in the nation. UNT was ranked No.16 out of 275 schools listed. The program rose from a No.124 ranking last year.

UNT journalism school and its graduate institute receive diversity award from AEJMC

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- The Frank W. and Sue Mayborn School of Journalism at the University of North Texas and the school's Frank W. Mayborn Graduate Institute of Journalism have received the 2016 Equity & Diversity Award from the Association of Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Mayborn representatives received the award at the AEJMC's annual conference, held Aug. 4-7 in Minneapolis.

UNT College of Music jazz students win 8 'DownBeat' Student Music Awards

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- University of North Texas College of Music jazz students, faculty and ensembles have been honored by the national jazz and blues magazine "DownBeat" with a total of eight student music and outstanding performance awards. The awards, considered the most prestigious in jazz education, will be announced in the June issue of the magazine.

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- Terresa Hardaway, a graduate in the design research MFA program at the University of North Texas, took on a thesis project that affected her personally and other African American women personally – her hair.

Carnegie Classification lists UNT among Tier One research universities in latest report

UNT design research graduate student develops app to combat human trafficking

DENTON (UNT), Texas -- A University of North Texas design research graduate student created a smartphone app that aims to help people -- especially truck drivers -- report incidents of human trafficking.

Lisa Mercer developed Operation Compass with the goal of compiling a database that will automatically collect and sort the incidents.
