TGS COVID-19 Research Impact Award
Applications have been opened for students who are enrolled in Summer 2021 courses!
Administrators, staff, and faculty at the University of North Texas are deeply committed to our students and understand the impact COVID-19 has had on their research. Through the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF), we are offering the Summer 2021 TGS COVID-19 Research Impact Award and providing financial assistance to students due to the disruption caused by this virus.
Who is eligible to apply?
We encourage continuing graduate students to apply for the TGS COVID-19 Research Impact Award if their research was adversely impacted by COVID-19.
How do I apply?
Continuing graduate students whose research was adversely impacted by COVID-19 should complete the TGS COVID-19 Research Impact Award Form. Please click here to submit your request.
I applied for the COVID-19 Student Success Award. Can I apply for this award also?
Yes. The TGS COVID-19 Research Impact Award was created to assist students with their additional financial need due to the adverse impact to their research by the virus. For a link to the COVID-19 Student Success Award, please click here.
How much will I receive?
Awards will vary. We are seeking to stretch our funding as far as possible.
Can I apply more than once?
Students can only apply once. Keep in mind a student must be currently enrolled to receive funds.
What is the deadline to apply?
Applications will be accepted through summer until the total funds allocated for the Summer 2021 semester are awarded.
When will I hear if I am awarded?
We are reviewing applications daily and hope to notify students within two weeks of receiving the completed application from the Faculty/Major Professor.
How will I receive my award?
Once a student is approved for an award, an award notification will be sent to their UNT student email. The award notification will include instructions for completing the TGS COVID-19 Research Impact Award Agreement in myUNT. Students will be able to indicate in their award agreement how they would like to receive the funds (applied to your account charges or as a direct refund through their myUNT refund preference).
