The Toulouse Graduate School created the McNair Scholars Scholarship, a highly competitive scholarship that was created to recruit the very best graduate students who show promise for conducting important research or creative activity and are committed to full-time enrollment. This scholarship is available to new and continuing doctoral and master's students for the first year of study with a possible one-year renewal for masters students and up to three-year renewal for doctoral students. Recipients of this competitive scholarship receive $5,000 per academic year – $2,500 in the Fall and $2,500 in the Spring – and may be eligible for in-state tuition rates.
Reminder: *McNair Scholars: UNT will waive the application fee for McNair Students. Upload your McNair document to the graduate admission application. Please email gograd@unt.edu for additional assistance.
Each year, exemplary graduate students selected could receive $5,000 for up to four (4) academic years (up to $20,000) for those pursuing doctoral and MFA degrees, or two (2) years for all other master’s degrees (up to $10,000 total amount).
Holistic review of admissions information (only admitted McNair Scholars will be considered) and UNT academic record (for continuing students) will be taken into consideration when awarding students. Undecided and pending students are ineligible to receive the award.
