Effective Fall 2020, pending funding availability the Toulouse Graduate School created the McNair Scholars Scholarship, a highly competitive scholarship that was created to recruit the very best graduate students who show promise for conducting important research or creative activity and are committed to full time enrollment. This scholarship is available to new and continuing doctoral and master's students for the first year of study with a possible 1 year renewal for masters students and up to 3 year renewal for doctoral students. Recipients of this competitive scholarship receive $2,000 per academic year – $1,000 in the Fall and $1,000 in the Spring – and may be eligible for in-state tuition rates.
Reminder: *McNair Scholars: UNT will pay the application fee upon receipt of the request for Admission Application Fee Waiver form or letter from your McNair director. Please email the completed form to email@example.com or fax it to 940-565-2032.
Each year, exemplary graduate students selected could receive $2,000 for up to four (4) academic years (up to $8,000) for those pursuing doctoral and MFA degrees, or two (2) years for all other master’s degrees (up to $4,000 total amount).
Holistic review of admissions information (only admitted McNair Scholars will be considered) and UNT academic record (for continuing students) will be taken into consideration when awarding students. Undecided and pending students are ineligible to receive the award.
Continuing and fully admitted graduate students that meet the eligibility requirements will need to submit UNT’s General Scholarship Application to be considered for this scholarship opportunity. Upon submission, applicants will be auto-matched based on the McNair Scholars application fee waiver request for consideration provided they meet any of the criteria requirements.
New students must have an assigned UNT ID number and active myUNT account to complete the application. For help with your EUID and/or password, please visit https://ams.unt.edu.
